Winemaking Notes
100% hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes (Clones MV6, 115 and 114) from our Yarra Junction Vineyard. Multiple, temperature controlled small batches of 100% whole berries were allowed to ferment using a combination of natural and inoculated yeast strains. Cold soak and simultaneous secondary fermentation were also utilised to enhance colour, highlight aromatics and improve complexity. All ferments were meticulously hand plunged and gently pressed with some ferments allowed extra time on skins. The wine was matured for nine months in 40% new French oak barrels prior to bottling in December.
Tasting Notes
Vibrant cerise, red in colour, this wine is instantly appealing with a perfume reminiscent of rose petals, red cherries and complex savoury pot pourri and dried herb notes. The palate is seriously refined with an elegant power offering structural chalky tannins amidst a core of velvety pure fruits. Layering and integration of oak spice adds crazy complexity culminating in a plush but controlled finish.

Wine Pilot Review 96 Points
A classically defined Yarra Valley Pinot that combines power and elegance with a smooth velvety palate, underpinned by a fine, firm core of tannin and well-weighted oak. The aromas of rose petals and violets with a little glazed cherry, immediately engages. The palate takes its cue and rolls out its luxurious combination of bright and intense flavours sitting on a plush velvety bed.
