Our Pinot Grigio has been made with winemaking decision to move towards a drier, Italian style. Charles' take on Pinot Grigio involves bright aromatic fresh stone fruits, with subtle oak influence to provide structure and complexity to the wine.
Tasting Notes
The Pinot Grigio fruit was hand-picked in the cool morning, then a whole bunch pressed with a 25% portion of the juice fermented wild in aged French barriques and the remainder fermented slowly in the tank at low temperature. The resultant wine is brightly aromatic and vibrant, yet complex, textural and savoury on the palate.
Reviews
"A portion of this was fermented wild in old oak. The rest was fermented and matured in stainless steel.
It's a frisky white wine, lean-ish, attractively textural, ripped with dry pear and florals. Elegant and stylish but in an understated way. Flint and apple notes too, but subtle. Like what I'm tasting here. It won't bowl you over but it's not trying to. It's good." 92, Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front
